I've read quite a few things like this in my life time I guess. But at the time I'd read this particular quote I assure you that I was not on my way to living a happy life. I was in college for all the wrong reasons-- pursuing a degree that I was uncertain would matter to me-- and slushing from one day to the next. So, upon reading this randomly on the internet one day, I decided that I would never do anything I didn't really love or enjoy in some small way at least.
(Funny how clicking links on the internet can lead you to changing your whole outlook on life.)
Anyway, that next semester I changed my Major(s) to Advertising and Photography. Practical, yet, something that I actually like. And though I am not exactly sure that I am in college for all the right reasons still... ... ...at least I am doing something... ... ...that is fun!
When I found out this class [Web Design] was dedicated to making a personal website of any nature, I immediately knew that I wanted to design it for my photography. Thus! To share my images and imagination with the world.
Ironically, I had started looking at photo websites many months ago and I'd gathered some other alternatives or additives to the way this website would function. Ultimately, I'd like to have one section of my website function as a portfolio for my work, and the other half function as an interactive photo database. An interactive photo database usually includes directions for an audience where after the audience participates by posting their digital images in response or according to the directions. Similarly to some other artist websites that are still active to this day. There's not much more to add to that except that I'm extraordinarily excited to see my ideas take off.
